Donna's Story
Life
In 1974, right after graduation, I moved to Travis AFB, near Fairfield, CA. I was married Jan, 1976 at Travis AFB, CA. We spent three years in Alaska, where my first daughter, Christi, was born. We then moved back to Travis for 3 years, where my younger daugher, Tara, and son, David, were born. Then we spent 3 years at Altus AFB, in Altus, OK. In 1986 we came back to CA to Castle AFB in Atwater, where I received my A.A. degree in 1989 from Merced College, CA. After 13 years in an abusive marriage I finally left my husband in 1989 and we were divorced in Dec., 1990. I am currently living in Rancho Cordova, Sacramento Co., CA, still single and disabled after a severe back injury. My mother passed away on my father's birthday in 2003. I currently live with him and my 29-yo daugher, Tara. Christi lives with her long-time boyfriend, Neal, in Fair Oaks, just a couple miles from my home. My son spent 8 years in the Navy and is now attending college in San Diego, CA. I have a cat, Ariadne, and four fish in a small aquarium. I'm planning on buying a small piece of property in the not-too-distant future where I can live out the rest of my life in peace with my animals and herb garden. I have a good start with potted plants, but I want a real garden I can use for my incense and holistic...Expand for more
remedies I'm making arrangements to sell in nearby metaphysical shops. I'm also a paranormal investigator with an up-and-coming group called H.P.I. International (yes - we have groups in other countries now - watch out, TAPS!). I haven't been as active with them I as wish because of the back injury I had in 2007, which has put me out of the job market permanently. I spent many years as a school secretary with the Sacramento County Office of Education. I spent my first few years at SCOE as a para-educator in juvenile hall and ended as a school secretary in the Special Education department where we serviced spec. ed. students incarcerated in juvenile hall and other institutions under our jurisdiction. I now spend my time with ghost-hunting and making my incense. I grow many of my own herbs, which include 3 types of lavender, 3 types of sage, and many others. Many of them have been wildcrafted by me, such as oak moss, mistletoe, and others. I recently came out of a somewhat long-term relationship. He is a logger/tree-trimmer and I spent many hours on his job sites gathering herbs for my business. Things didn't go so well with us, so I'm back on my own again. As soon as my disability goes through, I'm planning on a trip back to FL for a long-awaited visit. I can't wait!
