Donna's Story
I'm still working - as a Senior Legal Assistant with Dept. of Justice, United States Attorney's Office in Detroit, MI
They told me I can't ever retire...LOL..I have traveled all over Europe and parts of Orient. Been on an Aircraft Carrier (as guest of my Navy Son) 3 different times from Honolulu to San Diego....Have 20 days of Navy sea duty. Marines nicknamed me Machinegun Mama. Going back to San Diego in July with 7 other family members for my son's retirement from the Navy (20 years). Just lost my Mom this December, 2 months short of 102 years old and still bowling on a team. Hope to be just like her. I'm a grandmother of 4 and Mother of 3......Living an absolutely wonderful life, Praise the Lord. Oh, yes, in case you didn't already know, I won a lot of money on Wheel of Fortune and my son was on Price is Right and besides a boat, won a trip to Monte Carlo and took me along! Last year I went to Lake Placid and rode the Olympic Bobsled and went whitewater rafting in the Poconos. Taking a hot air balloon ride in Colorado in July after the retirement party......can't wait to see what's in store for me next!!

Update .. Just retired on March 31st after 30 years with Dept of Justice - U.S. Attorney's office. My husband of 54 years had a heart attack and passed away the next morning. Am doing well considering. Took a fantastic road trip with son Craig to Alaska via Mt Rushmore, Old Faithful et al, then up thru beautiful Canadian Rockies and entire Alaska highway...travelled ...Expand for more
over 6,000 miles. What a wonderful trip that was. Craig is now Deputy Commander of Ft. Greely in Alaska. My sons and families are a constant joy and support in my life. I am so blessed! My mom lived to just about 102 so I hope to be just like her and still going like the energizer bunny!
Update:
I have moved from St. Clair Shores to live with my youngest son, Don, in Stephenson Mi. We are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan about 15 minutes from the Wisconsin border. We are about 10 hours driving time from Dayton OH. I am doing pretty well and have made lots of new friends up here. I have 4 adult grandchildren in southern Michigan and two great grandsons. The son I live with works for Enstrom Helicopter and my middle son just relocated to the Upper Peninsula where he is the City Manager for the town of Ishpeming.. My oldest son lives in Lansing and works in design and graphics for Quality Dairy. I have discovered that a Michigan Upper Pen8nsula is really God’s Country. There are lakes and rivers and waterfalls, even mountains. If you ever want to discover nature at its finest, just contact me and come visit. You won’t be disappointed. Our winters are pretty snowy bu I find it easier to get around here than when in Detroit area. We have snowmobiling, skiing and even ski jumping. I’m still trying to sell my house back in St. Clair Shores hopefully getting more viewers now that COVID has opened up. By the way how are you all doing wherever you are with the “pandemic”? We were not hit as hard up here as lower a Michigan. God bless and stay safe you all.
