Donna's Story

Life 2007 Hi! Since you are here, I guess you are wondering what has happened in my life. Well... I was married for 12 years and have been divorced for 13 yrs. I went to college after I divorced so that I could provide a better life for my boys. I teach high school science to students with learning disabilities. I love it - I couldn't imagine doing anything else! I have spent most of my time raising my boys. We were involved heavily in our church and the youth group. In school the boys played football, soccer, and were in band. I have enjoyed my time with my children more than anything else in my life - but soon it will be my turn! My turn to explore life's many adventures on my own. My two oldest boys graduated from Lowell High School. Joshua, 24, graduated last year from Ball State with a bachelors in Marketing. Jacob, 21, attended Ball State for two years. He now works at a hospital. James, 17, attends Kouts High Shool and is a Junior. He has a huge graduating class - a whole 59 students! So the kiddos won't need Mom much longer. I have about four close girlfriends. We go out on occasion to see plays or musicals. Usually we go out for drinks and...Expand for more
chit-chat for hours. We try to go on a trip together every few years. We have so-o-o much fun! It is the one time we are not in our mommy mode. Love life? I didn't date for the first 9 years after I divorced. Why? Let's just say my marriage wasn't the greatest and it kinda poisoned me against men. Besides, I was busy - working, college, children, etc. Anyway, a farmer in my town softened me up. I dated him for about four years. He had 350 acres and 100 of it was woods right on the river. We'd go for long walks, canoe rides, and, best of all, he taught me how to shoot! I'm pretty good with a revolver, but I still end up with bruises on my shoulder from the shotgun. Bruce was very sweet and caring. Something happened, however, and we broke it off. Right after this break-up, in June of 2006, my high school boyfriend, Dwayne Patlyek, contacted me through classmates.com. It was very surreal. I didn't know what had happened to him, but I guess he had moved to Texas. We talked on the phone and started flying back and forth to see each other. It's over now - but, man, was it fun!! So there you go. I'm finished. :) I hope all of you are having a great life!!
