Donna's Story
There has been nothing unique about my life after highschool, but I have had many blessings such as marriage, kids, college, and a career.
One of my successes thus far is my partner of seventeen years, Tim Hertel. Many of you know the wild man. We are so opposite, but it works for us.
As a result of our marriage, we have two huge inventions and investments whom are Hunter age 16 and Skylar age 14. I have one word to describe each child Hunter/intellegent and Skylar/humorous.
Yes, of coarse, I still live in Borger. If you would have asked me in highschool what I was going to do when I graduated, I would have replied, "Get the h... out of Borger, TX." I tried folks but destiny was beyond my control.
As for my livelyhood, well lets just say, "God does have a great sense of humor." Now if you knew me twenty years ago, then you knew I would skip school at any given opportunity and forge my fat...Expand for more
hers name to my sick notes. I would spend a day laying out and return to school the next day with a bad sunburn. My geometry teacher never bought the sick story and I just couldn't understand why he didn't. LOL Surely you have guessed my occupation by now. I am almost embarrassed to say it, "Yes I am the great educator." I have taught school for fourteen years. Isn't life funny??? Yep!!! I have been teaching in Borger for many years. I have survived first graders, third graders, fifth graders, six graders, and eighth graders. Now I am taking on the big challenge of highschoolers. Wow I will be a Borger High School math teacher. Once again, "God is a funny character."
That about sums up my life after 1986. Even though my life is not what I invisioned at age seventeen, I would not trade one thing about it. I have had many joys, laughs, good friends, and a great family to fill each aging day with happiness.
