Donny's Story
After High School I joined the military. US Navy on Nuclear Attack Submarines. I was a Sonar Technician. Stayed in the Navy 20+ years and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. I was in the Navy from the Viet Nam War through the Persian Gulf War. After I retired, I stayed in San Diego, CA until 2006, at which time I moved to Paragould, AR where I work as a Computer Installation, Networking and Training Tech. the cause of the failure to both marriages was the fact that I was Deployed most of the time and never home. Being gone for 3 to 6 months at a time is very hard on a relationship (we were deployed 310 days in 1977 and 292 days in 1978). Looking back, I would have done things a little different.
I had many friends in Lawton and have learned over the years that some have left us. I must say that I have only spoken to a couple of people (not counting my ex) from our class. Mike Henry, George Asbury. Wish I could re-new some friendships and start some new ones.
