Doonaree's Story
After HS it was Marymount for under grad and St. John's for a masters in sped. To celebrate, a trip to Hawaii. Fell in love with the place, the people and met a nice guy. 3 years later the second trip became permanent. The nice guy turned out to be the love of my life. Married in '92, Caitlin Mariko in '93, Jillian Ritsuko in '96 and Jacob Kiyoshi in '99. Now I have the brass ring. 3 kids and a house in the country (really country). Schofield Barracks. I miss NY in the Fall. Here the leaves don't change. October is actually hotter than June.
My kids saw the Atlantic Ocean once. It was cold, it had rocks and you can't see your feet. Yuck. They couldn't get over the fact that you had to pay to go to the beach!!!!
I have learned to do without Fall, real Italian food, JC Penney and good pizza. But the tradeoff is worth it.
When was the last time you saw a rainbow out your livingroom window? (Wow! I should work for the Visitor's Bureau.)
