Doreen's Story
I worked for 15 yrs at U S WEST CHQ doing Executive Compensation & administering the USW Stock Incentive Plan. I was one of the first 40 people in the U.S. to obtain my Certified Equity Professional (CEP) certification from Santa Clara University in 1994. When the USW "holding company" was disbanded in June 1998 I went to work at the non-regulated entity, MediaOne, which was soon 'subsumed' by AT&T Broadband. Louisville, CO for almost two years, also doing Executive Comp; I left STK in August 2001.
In Sept 2001 I was diagnosed with colon cancer, which I have been fighting intermittently ever since...I am (Jan 2011) getting ready to embark yet again on chemotherapy to try to put the disease back into remission.
As the result of my cancer & some of the side-effects to my body from previous treatments, I no longer work outside of the home, but DO spend a lot of time on the computer!
