Dorinda's Story
Life
Hi Everyone!
In '72 I married Charles Scalf, ('70 Norte Vista grad). Our oldest is Amy. She's 34 years old, lives on Widbey Island, Washington with her navy husband, Nathan's 33 and lives in Eugene, Oregon. He's in construction and is expecting his 1st baby in Sept. and Carrie, 31 lives in Burlington, Washington with her husband, Darin and their 3 girls. They have their own business there. Their oldest daughter is 13 yrs old with the most beautiful red hair like her mom and her grandfather, Charles. The middle one is 10 and is a blue eyed, blond hair little girl and the last one is 5 and is the ham of the family. They are all the most beautiful girls!! Then came Adam age 29. He was one of the football players that took Roseburg High to back to back state championship. He was their running tailback. He and his wife, Estrella have a 2 year old little girl. He's worked for Umpqua Dairy since high school and Estrella has her own hair salon.
When Adam was 1 Charles and I divorced. I then moved to Roseburg, Oregon. I needed to get my children out of Riverside to a more healthy place. Here I found my present husband, Michael. We've been married for the past 25 years and plan on another 25 more God willing. Michael is in management for a large boat manufacturing plant in Roseburg. He is the most wonderful man in the world.
Our children are Sarah, age 25. She and Shawn have our 2 grandsons. Brayden just turned 8. He is all boy and Landon just turned 1. He is the most perfect baby! And he sure loves his grandma! They live in Sutherlin, Oregon. Sarah is going for her doctorates degree at U of O. Yes, we are Ducks fans!!! Shawn also works at the Umpqua Dairy with Adam. Then there is our baby, Amanda. She is 19yrs old and goes to th...Expand for more
e Seattle University of Washington. All of my children are wonderful and I am very proud of them and of course my grandchildren are the best in the world!!
Our other children are not human!! We have a very large baby. He weighs 150 lbs, has a long tail and big feet. He's a german shepherd named Nephi, (the "i" is long). He's worse than a 2 year old. He has a box with his toys in it and likes to drag everything out all over the house. But when we say "It's time for bed Nephi" he puts his toys away!! Then there's Katie, the fattest, sassiest snotty cat that there ever was. She likes to spend her day tormenting the dog. We have horses. Mine's a Paint mare, 15 and 1/2 hands, and her name is Shy-Ann. This past summer I rode her in the town parade at rodeo time. I'm hoping to ride her in the barrel races this summer. We'll see!!!
You can't live in a beautiful place like Oregon and not enjoy the outdoors. We fish, hunt, ski (snow and water)!! We live in a very small town with just over 1,000 people. The name of the town means, "Valley of Eagles". And we love it here!
I taught in a middle school for a long time until I was involved in a car wreck in '95. A girl ran a red light and T-boned me. I hit a telephone pole, a light pole, hitting a fire hydrant, getting pinned between them. There's lots more to tell but not now. If you want to know more, let me know.
Right now all I can say is that I am very happy to be alive and where I'm at at this point in life. Life is good! I have my wonderful children, a great husband, sweet, sweet grandchildren and pets that loves me!! Can't ask for more then that!!!!!!!
I hope I hear from all of my old school friends. It'll be great to find alot of you.
Take care! Dorinda Marshall Davis
