More about Doris:"Was fortunate to be a stay at home mom while the girls were growing up. I was involved in many community projects and spent a lot of time and effort on volunteer services. The very favorite was being a co-leader of Kathleen's Brownie and Girl Scout troop with Nita Barnett. She's so energetic, creative and fun. We and the girls had a great time working on unusual skills ( silk screening and copper enameling for two ) alongside the regular GS programs and as much camping as possible. ome which Grayce Staub and I led-it was challenging to find crafts their elderly hands could do that weren't insulting to their intelligent and agile minds! They were a delight.
In 1984 I decided to get a job and answered an ad in the old Richardson Daily News for the Coit Rd. Animal Hospital where I worked for the next 26 years. Dr. Bob (Bruce) Wiggs became boarded in Veterinary Dentistry and I enjoyed learning to assist with dental procedures and other treatments. Dr. Wiggs was most accomplished and well known in the Veterinary Dental community teaching internationally. Veterinarians from the U. S.,Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia came to study under him. It was very interesting and fun too. Dr. Wiggs was a generous man, he provided pro bono dental treatment to animals in Zoos and other wild animal sanctuaries, hence the pictures I've posted. I have retired, but my daughter Kelly continues to work there even though Dr. Wiggs has passed away.".
