Dorothy's Story
Life
My life bio will someday be a book! I was adopted at age 4 and went through school as Dorothy J. Calton. At age 12, my mother put me in the youth home where I went on to shelter homes, foster homes and a girls home. I got married at age 15 and with my 2 children in the audience, graduated in 1974 with my class. I went to college twice but still don't have the degree I was after. I've owned & sold several businesses and dabble in the stock market and now the forex market. I've lived in Harrisburg PA, Seattle WA, and currently in Las Vegas NV. I am single again :( but that's the way life goes sometimes. I would love to reconnect with you.
School
I know most of you from Orem Jr. High, where I attended. I loved French class & English. I wanted to be either a P.E. Teacher or an English Teacher. A newspaper writer & editor was the closest thing to English Teacher I've become. My name was always remembered because of the yellow brick road, where's your dog toto, We're not in Kansas anymore, and so on. I didn't mind. I enjoyed school.
College
My first trip to College was for Stenography. I studied for a year and then moved. I've pretty much stayed in the business end of things until I started working at Signetics in 1981. When they decided...Expand for more
to shut the plant down, we that remained received a 2 year scholarship back to school. I took business classes for the first year and ended up moving to PA where I started my own newspaper. I never have finished for the "Degree". I could always go back to school now, but I choose not to.
Workplace
I work as a Resident Agent in Nevada. An R/A accepts service of process for Corporations, LLC's, and Limited Partnerships. I also set them up from beginning to opening a bank account. People like NV because of all the great tax advantages. I also work with a headquarters program that houses the entities for all our clients that don't live in NV but want to take advantage of NV laws. I dabble in the stock market, buying and selling stocks and options. I've always worked in business whether someone else's or my own. I've traveled with many seminars and enjoyed and still enjoy working. Right now I have been trading the foreign currencies and it is so much easier than the stock trading. I love it! I have 6 Kids and 12 grandchildren. I am an empty nester. I used to really miss having all the noise around but with 12 grandchildren and 7-9 of them around at the same time, well, you can imagine what peace & quiet must sound like to me now! :) I simply love it all!
