Hans's Story
Life
After graduating from Pulaski, I went to UW-Madison for a few years. I married in 1965 and was on active duty in the Navy from 1966-68. I returned to Milwaukee to work and raise our two children. In 1970, I enrolled at UW-Milwaukee where I eventually (1978) earned a Ph.D. in Economics. My first professorial job was at U. of Georgia (1976-79), then Wash. St. U. I always wanted to be a scientist when I grew up. I told others that I would eventually make $12,000 per year "pushing buttons" on a computer. Today, my work includes pushing buttons on a computer, but, thanks to inflation, I make much more than $12,000 per year.
I love what I call "recreational reading," golf, and watching great movies. I spend too much time working and not enough relaxing. I would love to retire, but I cannot afford to right now, primarily due to the last couple of market crashes.
