Dorothy's Story
I've had a pretty good life since departing the Class of '71. I got married and had a son of whom I'm very proud. (He's an investment broker.) I also have 5-yr-old grandson who means the world to me.
My career has been a good one. I currently work as a print journalist in the nation's capitol and live in Columbia, MD. I never thought I'd end up being in journalism, but as an editor, reporter and general staff writer, it has, over the years, opened so many doors for me. Growing up in the Church Hill section of Richmond, VA
My first job was at Richmond City Hall, where I got paid $60.00 a week to file personnel papers. What I remember most about it is tha t it allowed me plenty of time to think about what I wanted to do in the future.
