Doug's Story
After high school I obtained my Commerce degree in 1982 and my Law degree in 1985, both at the University of Alberta. I articled with the law firm of Lucas, Edwards & Bishop in Edmonton and then took an associate position with the law firm of Field & Field in 1986. While working at Field I got married, had 2 kids, practiced primarily in the areas of corporate, commercial and tax law, became a partner in 1992 and transferred to their Calgary office in 1994. ctice in Calgary. My family and I relocated to Ontario in 1999, where I continued to carry on my Calgary-based law practice from a home office in Oakville. While in Ontario I also spent 3 years working part-time in the tax group at Deloitte & Touche's Mississauga office. My family and I moved back to Calgary in 2007, where I continue to carry on a tax and corporate law practice, both independently and as a contract lawyer with the law firm of Masuch Law LLP. My wife is amazing, our kids are great, and life is pretty darned good.
