Doug's Story

Life I'm married for 25 years to my wonderful Julie. No children, we're still raising each other. My main work is doing voice-over announcing for radio and television commercials, which I've done since 1979. I work with Turner's Cartoon Network and Cartoon Network Latin America, Boomerang and other fun stuff. I write and produce commercials and music for commercials as well. I also still dabble in music as a hobby. I write songs and play with an oldies band (THAT seems appropriate... the OLDIES part) called Black Diamond. My wife and I were Civil War reenactors for eleven years. I was commander of the Ga. Division Signal Corps during that time, and I also served two terms as the Ga. Division Chief of Staff. I retired from that hobby in 2000. I had BOTH hips replaced last year due to severe arthritis. Doing great now. Not quite ready to go fight the Civil War all over again though. I have picked up my drumming again after about nine years of not having done it. I figured it was a good thing to do to help the new hips...Expand for more
, and I was right. Thankfully, playing came back to me pretty easily. I missed it so much and that's made me enjoy it even more. Julie and I have even done a bit of paranormal investigating in recent years. VERY interesting. Guess that's generally about it. It's good to see the list of old familiar names and a photo or two. Sending love to all my former classmates. I wish we could have another class reuinion before we start kicking our various buckets. That would be fun. I ran into Pam Thomason a couple of months back and she said there is a small group trying to make that happen. We really should do it in 2008. If everyone could pitch in a little bit, it wouldn't be so overwhelming for the brave few. Think about it. You KNOW we'd have fun. I know what you're thinking, but, no, I don't want my band to play for it because I want to be able to talk with everyone. Guess you could say I don't want to have to work at my own party!! I'd really love to see all of you. Take care of yourselves. Much Love, Doug Williams
