Life
Year and a half away from retirement. Been with my partner (yup, male) 32 years. Done a lot of traveling--Europe, Russia, So. America, Egypt. Partner and I are sailing around the Horn [again], Buenos Aires-Falklands-Antarctica-Valparaiso, Chile 20 days this December.
Y'know...being gay in 1963, I really hated high school. I'm better now. A lot better.
Update: 7/09. Partner and I will be celebrating our 34th In Rome, Italy, the 10th of August. Retiring end of school year 2009-2010. Then it's 'April in Paris', 'Autumn in Vermont', and 'Summer in Wherever'.
July 2015 Retired from teaching in 2011. Was going to retire in 2010 but my principal begged to work another year 'cause she had a 6th grade from hell coming up which I could handle. Worst year ...Expand for more
of my career. Partner and I just returned from Malaysia and Indonesia. Spent a week in the Borneo jungles with the orangutangs. Getting too old for tramping around in the jungle, sweating buckets and sleeping in a hammock with no AC. But I wouldn't trade the experience.
Partner and I are throwing a champagne reception and dinner for 38 Aug.1st in a local museum's ballroom to celebrate our 40 years together. My partner's university is providing a string quartet and a voice professor to sing a few favorites,
We're leaving for China and Tibet 4-13-2017. Man, the application for a Chinese visa was 9 pages long. We even had to include copies of our utility bills, drivers' licenses, and evidence of higher education. It was like we were applying for citizenship!
