Doug's Story

Hard to remember at this age, but.... U of M graduate 1974. I have spent the last 35 years in the insurance industry living and working in Rochester. I have worked in different areas of insurance at the retail level, and currently work mostly with businesses and writing commercial business including property, casualty, and work comp issues. I was married in 1983 to Melody (Willis) and we have two children-- Jennifer and Daniel. Jennie graduated from Mayo in 2004 and from U of M in 2008. She lives in Bloomington with her husband of nearly two years, works for McGladrey in downtown Minneapolis. Dan went to Lourdes high school and graduated in 2008. He currently works for Tires Plus (owned by Bridgestone/Fire...Expand for more
stone as a mechanic. He loves cars and know more about engines and vehicles than I care to find out. Melody is beginning her 33rd year at Mayo Clinic as a CT Tech, and since I married a child we both intend to work a few more years. We have been able to travel a little more in the last few years, and look forward to doing that more. My avocation has always been sports, and I coached at the youth level in Football, basketball and baseball for many years. The highlight of that career was coaching high school baseball at Lourdes High School for 21 years. I retired in 2008 from that job when my son graduated. I hope to be at the reunion and look forward to seeing many including those in town we hardly ever see.
