Douglas's Story

Life This Spartan is now a "southern" boy living the dream with my lovely wife Diana and our three cats in dynamic Alpharetta, Georgia. (That's in infamous Fulton County GA - voter fraud capital of the south.) We are proud to be MAGA President Trump supporters and believe WWG1WGA. We've been in Georgia for 13 years now and thoroughly enjoy it. I retired as Division Chief / Fire Marshal for the Sandy Springs, GA FD on August 4, 2021, after 53 years of public service. I've been in the fire service since just after graduation from VPHS and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. It has been an incredible journey. IMHO it has been the best job in the world. I even predicted that career choice in my '67 senior yearbook photo (plans to become a fireman). Over the past 33 years Diana and I have lived and worked in Virginia, Massachusetts, New York, Idaho and now Georgia since leaving California in 1993. Call us rolling stones. I've got three children and nine grandkids scattered about the country, though my oldest grandson (an Army vet like me) sadly passed away this year. Social media? I don't do Facebook, though Diana does. I got banned from Twitter (now "X") and am now on Truth (PurpleHeart1970). My favorite source of real political news is the: X22Report.com. I love asking for my "senior discount" and then being asked to prove my age. (My hairdresser gets tipped well but said the balding areas are only going to get bigger.). Oh well, I can live with that. For fun . . . I have taken up golf and it has really improved my cussing vocabulary. I’m also an Ambassador for Maker's Mark whiskey which I consume on the rocks with a splash of H2O - usually while floating in our newly refurbished cement pond - aka: swimming pool. Diana prefers martinis or gi...Expand for more
n and tonics, though, we both can be easily swayed by a pitcher of margaritas, and our love of Mexican food remains strong. I am an avid Yelper and have obtained Elite status on Yelp for 7 years. Just for kicks, in my 60's I completed (not "ran" but completed) six (6) 10K Peachtree Road Races (Heat, Hills and Humidity) in Atlanta . . . without needing the assistance of a paramedic. After 13 years as southerners, we have still not converted to drinking "sweet" tea. but we really enjoy BBQ and southern comfort-food cuisine, perhaps too much. We're also still adapting to east coast "beaches with sunrises". We have an awesome home (aka: investment) in Alpharetta, GA and can’t believe the appreciation in value the past few years. Also, being a wounded Vietnam veteran and senior citizen has some nice tax advantages in GA. I pay $1 a year for our vehicle registration and have "free" lifetime hunting and fishing licenses. We have worked long and hard to succeed and been blessed by the Lord. We have it much better than many folks suffering through these inflationary and insane political times. We both tested positive for C-19 in December 2019 but had very, very mild symptoms. We now have natural "God produced" antibodies - no manmade "experimental" jabs for us. We'll remain pure bloods! We are also heavy into herbal medicine and supplements and have a supply of hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin on hand - preparing before the next election-stealing bio-weapon release. We also are using Bio-Scalar Energy Enhancement treatments to help cure what ails us. Life is good, but it will be much better for our country and the world when President Trump is re-elected (for the third time). FJB / LGB! Y'all take care, be safe and God bless. Go Spartans and God bless America!
