Douglas's Story
Life
After graduation I attended Seminole Jr. College and Florida Technological University. I lived and worked in the Central Florida area until 1985. During this time I got married we bought a nice home and we had a beautiful daughter.
In 1985 I left a company I worked with for 15 years, got divorced, moved to the East Coast of Florida and began working for the McDonnell Douglas Company in Human Resources. I worked there until 1995. I worked on the facility closure and transferred to the C-17 facility in Macon Georgia were I continued to work in the Human Resources department. McDonnell Douglas and Boeing merged while I was at Macon.
A job opportunity opened up at one of Boeing's facilities located in Corinth Texas and I transferred there in Janurary 2000 as the manager of Compensation and Benefits. The facility had about 1700 employees and manufactured parts for commercial and military aircraft.

at Corinth until June 2002 when I was offered the opportunity of a life time with the newly established Boeing's Airport Security Program as a Program Manager. In this position I was responsible for establishing an organization to manage the training and OJT for the Transportation Security Administration's 26,000+ Baggage Screeners in the US airports. My organization was also responsible for training the maintenance techs that maintained the airport's screening equipment. The contract closeout activities ended in Feb 2006 and I was laid off I worked for Boeing for almost 21 years. I don't regret leaving, I could work another life time and never top some of my achievements.
I retired in September 2006 and moved back to Titusville Florida. I workout to stay fit and enjoy outdoor activities like camping, hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. I enjoy working with my hands so I do home renovation and keep the cars, boat and other mechanical devices running.
