Douglas's Story
Wow, my junior year was a lifetime ago. Not too long ago, I celebrated my 58th birthday. Mid-life crisis hell, this my mid-life adventure! My life since graduation has been one adventure after another. I can honestly say my life has never been boring.
I graduated in 1981, and went on to do a three year stint in the Army. Then transferred to the Air Force for seven more years. During which time; I spent two years in Germany, then two years in England. While in England I got married to another Air Force member. Ended up getting divorced 2 1/2 years later while stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. No kids!
After the military, I became a Professional Driver. First as a truck driver and then as an Executive Chauffeur. During my driving career I logged over 1,200,000 miles. Yes, you read that right, one million, two hundred thousand miles! I guess I really like to drive.
I have done everything from working on nuclear weapons to being a semi-professional photographer. Needless to say, my resume reads like a small book. A "jack of all trades and master of none". Well, except the driving thing. I think I have that one down pat! T...Expand for more
he photographer part is still a work in progress.
Now I currently reside in paradise. I live on the Big Island of Hawaii. I am an Environmentalist with Colorado State University. I work for the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands. We help protect the threatened and endangered species of plants and animals that are found nowhere else in the world, accept here in Hawaii. What an awesome job! I love it! My office is approximately 140,000 acres of military land known as Pohakuloa Training Area, located in the center of the Big Island.
I am a free spirit. A free thinker. I live life as it reveals itself to me. It's an amazing journey. Think, learn, evolve.

Update: 2021
I am currently living and working in Washington State. The South Puget Sound area. I'm a forklift operator for a large, local automotive tool manufacturer.
Hopefully, by the end of this year, I'll have my gunsmithing business up and running. Guardian Gunworks, LLC.
The adventure continues...
Update: 1/16/24 I now work at Aero Precision in Lakewood, WA, as the Line Lead for the Solus and the Pursuit Bolt Action Rifle Systems.
