Douglas's Story

Life "I have traveled many miles in life with many varied experiences along the way, And have many more to go before I sleep...........". Oh Boy!, where to start.......this could take a while... I got waisted with a recriuter just after getting expelled from N.L.U. after 6 weeks, spent 2 hitches in the Corps. as a result, got a general discharge as a result of not following orders to the letter, never mind that by doing so I saved 12 people's life.... Bumped around, worked as a Machinest for a few years, went into auto mechanics for a couple of decades (in various positions), took positions in various car dealers as a mechanic, exclusively hi-line imports, sold engineered products to the paper mills for a bit ( static mixing, air polution stuff, F.R.P. field work, etc.), A few years in construction trade as a "Precision Millwright" / machinest / mechanic / structural welder..... Went into "Plant Maintenance" as a Multicraft Maint. shift lea...Expand for more
der.... and have since been in the "Rental Business" in various positions with United Rentals. I've been a single parent for over a decade now, a difficult thing but not impossable.Their mom ran out on us , saying she never wanted to be a mother..... go figure......, but we have become a suprisingly strong family unit likely as a result of it..... I have had the same job (with GOOD benifits) for 12+ years now. Lost my oldest child to cancer earlier this year, and all too many friends and family the last few years..... But such is life, no one makes it out alive 'ya know...... So..... I'm starting to look around for female companionship (scary at our age!), and have been enjoying some pretty good trips on the scooter, and coming to grips with reality, life, the universe, and everything............... mortality can be a real b###h to deal with once in a while....
