Douglas's Story

I always wanted to be a Pilot when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. When I get frustrated or stressed out I go walking with my dogs in the country. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have cell phone, camera, and lunch to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I have always been inspired by my father. He is my hero in more ways than one. He was probably the kindest man i ever met. He lead through example and he always loved his family even if he couldn't show it sometimes. I have spent over 48 years in Florida only to find out that my recent move to West Virginia was something I should have done twenty years ago. I am living in an area that puts me at ease and it is very serene here. I have a passion for rescue dogs. Right now I have two of them and they are the most grateful animals...Expand for more
ever. When I slow down at work, I will set up a rescue for dogs and horses to finish my life here. The biggest surprise in my life has been my wife, Denise. She has shown me how to enjoy things and to be compassionate about life and people. I have one son, Michael. I have learned that some people shouldn't have any. Children are such a joy and a great humility gauge that you can't help but laugh at yourself sometimes. Child abuse is intolerable and should be a Capital Crime. Anyone that abuses children should be put in a cage and abused the rest of their lives. I have no mercy for abusers. My biggest regret from my past is that I spent too much time abusing drugs and that more than half my life has been affected by it. Thank God I don't live that way anymore. Friends and family are that we really have in this world that matter. Enjoy them to the end.
