Douglas's Story
Let's see ... it's been a long time since high school and naturally a lot has happened. In a nutshell, some of my favorite pastimes include music, traveling, working out, sailing, skiing, biking, relaxing on the beach and in the mountains, learning, challenging myself, working on/around the house, fine dining, and spending quality time with my family, good friends and my dog. Having lived (and worked) in the US, Belgium, Sweden, and Greece, I'm fortunate to have had the exceptional and educational opportunity to travel extensively during my adulthood (i.e., over 4o countries on 4 continents) and experience/learn about many diverse people, places and cultures ... and, of course, life in general. I may have been northern-born, southern-bred, and a western transplant by choice, but no matter which way you look at it, I'm a world citizen (i.e., think globally, not just locally)! I'm back in Colorado now where I plan on staying put for the foreseeable future. tments, and then in late 2007, I was approached by a Denver-based computer software company who offered me their Vice-President of Operations position. I accepted. When I'm not working, I volunteer with Hospice to help/comfort patients with their final journey and transition with as much dignity as possible ... as well as do my best to enjoy everything Colorado has to offer year-round. I always enjoy meeting new people, fostering new friendships, expanding my horizons and widening my comfort zone ... and I've found that those that are the closest to me possess the following qualities (something I specifically look for when establishing new friendships):
SENSE OF HUMOR: If you`re going to be able to look back at something and laugh about it, you might as well laugh about it now!
OPTIMISM: A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes!
INTEGRITY: It`s the most fundamental source of personal worth!
CHARACTER: It`s doing what`s right when nobody is looking!
TRUST: Without it, you have nothing!
AMBITION: People with goals succeed because they know where they are going!
