Doug's Story

Life My Spouse I met her in a small town in northeastern Nevada at a birthday party thrown for me. We have been married since 1982. My Pets We have two dogs and a cat. The dogs are Siberian Huskies and are brothers from the same litter. They are 2 1/2 years old at this time are are sure a handful. They make it hard to keep the lawn in the back yard looking decent with all the running and playing that we do. Also, lots of sticks and holes make it look like a battle zone from a war. They are a joy to have and I love them like a family member. They are sure a part of this family. My Kids I had 2 great boys who are/were, both very smart and did very well in school. My youngest received his Masters Degree in Music, Classical Performance,...Expand for more
playing trumpet. He just recently auditioned for a regional Army Band and was selected as the one they wanted. There was only one trumpet spot open for all the regional bands that they do have and we don't know how many auditioned for the spot, but he was the one they chose. He was sworn in on Nov. 12th, 2020, and will enter Boot Camp in Jan. 2021. We are so proud of him. We lost our oldest son in Mar. of 2015 and that has been very hard on all of us. My Job I am now Retired as of June 23rd, 2020, yeaaa, after almost 30 years in the Mining Industry here in Northeastern Nevada. Feels very nice not to have to wake up at 2:30 - 3:00 am on work days and go climb on a bus for an hour bus ride to and from work every day. Retirement is good.

Well, the Barn is finally completely insulated. I also installed a couple ceiling fans to circulate the warm air that rises from the pellet stove this winter. Now to frame and finish the room out here for all my Barn Cave
Insulation in a pole barn makes such a difference. Last year cold days like today, the only warm spot was directly in font of the pellet stove. With the insulation, I can sit 4 ft away from the stove and it is almost too
Well, power has been in for a couple weeks now and by next Wednesday, the insulation should be all done in my building that I refer to as "The Barn". It houses two Mustangs and a Rhino, two cars and a Side by Side actually
Well, he is back, got here early this morning. Very vocal so put him in my back yard to try and quiet him down. Message me for address if he belongs to you.

Look at the beautiful stand a couple of the guys I worked with made for me to display the Abacus they all gave me for my retirement. What a great stand to show it off on. Thanks to Eric and Will for making this and to Jos
My co-workers wanted to be sure that I continued to count and use numbers after retirement so they bought me the best gift, an Abacus. What better way to keep track of numbers, right??!! Thanks to all of you for this.
