Well, sometimes "bad things" happen and good comes of them. I was involved in a vehicle accident in October 2019. During the subsequent x-rays and CAT scans, a "massage was noted in the lower esophagus. My physician sent me for a follow-up. us. Another appointment scheduled and cancer identified as Stage III, chemo/radiation schedule established with a surgery to be determined. 31 Mar 2020 I spent 11 hours on the operating table. Esophagus from stomach to base of throat removed, part of stomach wall taken to form a new esophagus and then inserted. Long road to recovery, but 18 months later am cancer-free.
