Douglas's Story
After graduating in 1968 I embarked on a professional music career while still attending college. In August 1968 the band that I played in was the opening act for Jimi Hendrix at Curtis Hixon Hall. Soon the music business eclipsed my educational pursuits and I played music for a living until 1973, when i had a powerful conversion experience to Christianity. I returned to school to pursue ministry education in 1980. ecame Chancellor of a seminary in 1993 and then founded Life Christian University in 1995. LCU has over 100 campus locations throughout the world, but the headquarters and main campus are in Tampa where I still reside today. Over 17,000 students have graduated from LCU in our first 17 years. More information is available on our website. My first book was published in 2011 and is available in Christian bookstores throughout the country. I have been married to my wife and partner in life and ministry for 25 years. We have three children; two sons ages 17 and 16 and one daughter age 11.
