Doug's Story
Life
After high school, I did some teaching and a lot of traveling. I left Fresno in 1978 and moved to Santa Cruz for 10 years. My folks live in Capitola and are doing pretty well, both are in their 80's. It was nice living close to them.
I now live in Hawaii and have since 1989. Life is great in Waikiki. I've never married and have always enjoyed being a single guy. I always like meeting new people and rekindling old friendships.
I have a successful career in the textile and uniform rental and sales business and dabble in real estate investments. I own and manage a few condominiums in the Waikiki area.
Drop me a line sometime and let's talk.
I hope you are well and enjoying life.
School
I had a crush on lots of people in Jr Hi and Hi School, rarely let them know. If I had it to do over I sure would have had more fun.
I can remember the funniest teacher I ever had was Mr. Harkness in English. He was definitely a card. He most assuredly liked the girls in his classes. My best teacher was Mr. Huck in the music department, he was very good at what he taught...Expand for more
and was in deed a professional.
One of the craziest school memories was sneaking into the pool at night and going skinny-dipping with friends. I lived close to school and it was lots of fun. I can also recall some really funny and memorable times in the locker room but this isn't the forum for that kind of reminiscing, right?
Some good fun was had on trips we took as a marching and jazz band member. The senior trip to Disneyland was a fun one too. Yeah, what memories. How about you?
Workplace
I've been in the textile rental industry for 33 years in both California and Hawaii. I have many great customers and do enjoy meeting with them and taking care of their problems and making sales. The majority of the companies I deal with are restaurants and hotels and as you can guess, there are so many in Hawaii. I stay very busy. It's fun though and I do like going to work everyday.
With my real estate interests here in Hawaii I've done pretty well and continue buying more properties and renting them out. One meets a lot of nice people and sure learns the ropes fast.
