Douglas's Story
Military
Well, came onto active duty 10 days after graduation. Trained as a Security Policeman and went to Carswell AFB, TX for one year, then to Ramstein AB, Germany for over 6 years. Then moved to Minot AFB, ND, where due to Air Force downsizing I had to cross-train into another career field, Readiness. Basically in wartime we are the nuclear, biological, and chemical technicians for the Air Force. idents, enemy and terrorist attacks. After I cross-trained in 1997, moved to Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, FL...and now stationed at Tyndall AFB, FL as the Emergency Management Publications Manager for the entire Air Force. My career has spanned over 25 years, conflicts in Grenada, Panama, Rwanda, Croatia, Somalia, Kosovo, Pakistan, Qatar, a few classified locations, and Iraq. Can't say that I have been "around the block", but I have at least gone to the corner store and back at least a dozen times.
