Douglas's Story
Aloha,
It's been a long & varied road since graduating in 1978! My kids are graduating now, but for whatever reason I don't feel the same generation gap with them that I felt with my parents. I can't believe their 17 & 19 already...Crikey, I swear I was 19 only a couple years ago!
Biologically I'll be 50 in a couple more years, but mentally I still think I'm in my early 20's (and I know my ex-wife will tell you I act like a 12 year old)...so I got that going for me!
I still have my summer job at Costco. (Okay, I know, I know...so I've been with Costco for over 24 years now and I know that 24 years is a few months longer than one summer, but hey, they keep offering me better jobs with better pay!) It's a great company and they have been very good to me, plus if I quit I wouldn't know what to do with myself...Well, that's not entirely true...check out my webpage (magicsparkes is all they will let me reveal as posting...Expand for more
dot coms are not allowed). Plus there is the radio station (KBLE 1050 AM). If you listen ALL DAY you might hear one of my two minute spots...you might...no promises though.
My memories and opinion of high school is probably a lot like yours. There were some good moments but I have no desire to go back and re-live any so-called glory days (remember I looked like Napoleon Dynamite for crying outloud!) If you're reading this and you remember me, then know that I hope you are well and I wish you all the best with what life has to offer.
I'm still in Federal Way several nights a week. There's a little Kung Fu studio behind Bucky's off Pac Highway (just North of Jack in the Box) where I sometimes train Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday evenings and Saturday mornings...Oddly enough, it turns out Kent Samford's daughter trains there too...small world. If you're around, come by and say hello.
