Douglas's Story

Life Hi, my name is Doug Taylor, and this is my biography ---- In the summer of '76, right after graduating from good old Reseda High, a few friends and I decided to take some time off and bum around Mexico. One thing led to another, and I ended up in Central America where, in a small town just outside of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I met the girl who would become my first wife. Connie (Consuela) was just 14 at the time, but was quite wise to the ways of the world, having practically raised herself from the age of eight (her entire family had been lost in a tragic ferry boat accident). Connie and I were married in 1978, and although our wedded bliss last only two years, she fathered three of my eight children. Pablo is now 25 and a large animal veterinarian in Costa Rica, Jennifer is now 24 and working as an entertainer in Las Vegas, and Enrique (AKA Little Ricky), Jennifer's twin brother, is a rodeo clown with the Five Star Rodeo company, traveling the Southeastern US. After my breakup with Connie, in late 1980, I moved back to the States and took a job in Albuquerque as a doorman at a male strip club, where I met my second wife, Shannon. A group of friends had taken her out for her bachelorette party, and we fell in love at first sight. Our animal passions overwhelmed us, one thing led to another, and we were "discovered" in a comprising position in the club's restroom. Needless to say, I lost my job, and she lost her fiancée when he heard about the incident from her maid of honor. Although her wedding was off, she and I got mar...Expand for more
ried the next year, and our marriage produced my fourth child, Cassandra (Cassie) who is now 18 and just received a full athletic scholarship for Women's Volleyball from New Mexico State University. Shannon and I were married just 6 years when she went out for a walk one warm summer evening and never returned. Although foul play was suspected, she is officially listed as a missing person. Unable to deal with the loss of Shannon, I left Albuquerque in 1987 and moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where I worked for the Saginaw Steering Gear division of GM as an assembly line worker. It was in Saginaw that I met my current wife, Alexandra, the love of my life and the mother of my other four children (Shawn, now 13; Billy, 12; Deirdre, 11; and the baby, Alija, just turned 2 [oops!]). We lived in Michigan (various places, working at different GM plants), until 1997, when we decided we were tired of the cold weather and moved our current home just outside of Houston, Texas, where I now work for the Texas Department of Corrections. My hobbies are stamp collecting, gardening, songwriting, beekeeping, breeding Basset Hounds, and taxidermy. I am also an avid hunter, and am a card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association. I own one of the largest collections of antique rifles and muskets in the U.S., much of it inherited from Alexandra's father, who was killed in a tragic hunting accident near Austin Texas early this year (although the incident is still "under investigation"). If you ever get to the Lone Star State, look me up, y'all!
