Doylene's Story

I graduated from Oklahoma State Univ. Then worked at Tinker AFB in OKC. From there to east coast where I taught elem for 2 years at McGuire AFB, married USNavy man. Then to Calif in San Jose area.Worked at several aerospace companies. We then went to Iran and existed for 2 years. I came back to good old USA, bought a home in San Diego area. We were there 2 years and back to Bay Area where I worked for several aerospace companies. Then husband retired from Navy. We both worked for Lockheed and husband retired. I got put on retirement by doctor due to breast cancer that spread to bone and liver. Then we moved to Arizona. Husband passed away there and left me on a cow pasture pool course. of breakage from errant golf balls, and moved myself back to Texas. Yea! I'm in Abilene now and loving every day. There's just no place in the whole wide world where the people are like they are in Texas and Okla. I call this the REAL world. Only took me 54 years of roaming to finally get back. After my school teaching years I worked as a technical editor/writer. Have days when I still miss that. Learned lot about planes, missiles, ect. And also about medical equipment. It's been a wonderful ride, but doesn't compare to my last undertaking of moving cross country by myself. That has been the biggest job of my life. But I'm still alive and marching thru the "golden year" crap. Regards to all!
