Life

I held a community elected position for eleven years for which I recently retired and the position is comparable to an Alderman in Chicago; I retired as Chair of the Westside Community Health Advisory for which there are six in Columbus, Ohio. I'm involved with the retiree chapter of my local union. I retired from the State of Ohio Department of Health with 30 1/2 years of service. In my spare time, I enjoy singing at events and jam sessions to strut my talents with ot...Expand for more
her musicians. I am a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, and other related houses. Lastly, I surpassed my goals that I set for myself in high school. I''m enjoying retirement because I am now focusing on myself and doing whatever I want including being a good mother, grandmother, and friend.
School
The teacher that inspired me the most was Mrs. Olivia Sheppard Hall the music teacher who taught Acapella. She provided me with enough inspiration that it afforded me the opportunity to sing in choirs both in College and in Church which led me to sing in community choirs and to singing in night clubs and then eventually to perform for groups and special occasions.
