Duane's Story
Life
After graduating from J.J. Pearce High School, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and recieved training as a Security Specialist at the USAF Security Police Acadamy, which included Air Base Ground Defense and Anti-Terrorist Training. After graduation, I was assigned to the 20th Security Police Squadron at RAF Upper Heyford, England from 1976 to 1978 with the Tactical Air Command. I was responsibile for the safeguard and protection of US government personnel and property, including forward strike ordinance and their delivery systems. After completing my overseas tour, I was assigned to the Strategic Air Command from 1978 to 1980 at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.
I currently live in Plano, Texas and have enjoyed a well-rounded career in Computer Aided Drafting and Design working on the following projects:
Abbott Laboratories Diagnostics Division - Producing engineering documentation of automated biomedical diagnostic equipment
Raytheon/E-Systems - Technical Illustrator of Special Mission Aircraft and Land Based Naval Defense Systems
Vari-Lite, Inc. - R&D solid modeling, drafting and design of high-end automated lighting equipment
CapRock Communications/McLeod USA - CADD Manager providing direction for telecom drafting and design of inside and outside plant facilities, Central Offices and long-haul fiber optic networks across the southwest
The Stanley Works - Product Designer of professional grade Mechanics and Industrial Tools

Okay, so that's my story and enough about me... now I'm going to brag on my 4 (yes, four) grown kids... otherwise skip to the last sentence.
My oldest son, Nehemiah, graduated from High School in 2001 and was the Battalion Commander of 7 JROTC squadrons. He was assistant Youth Ministry Music Leader at Grace Outreach Center in Plano while attending 2 years of ministry training in the Masters Commission. Due to the size of the Youth Group, he realized he needed more skills to manage the job. He has completed college at Hillsong International Leadership College in Sydney, Australia. He is now the Director of Music at Emmerge City Church.
My oldest daughter, Bethany, was one of the Praise and Worship Leaders in the Youth Music Group at Grace Outreach Center in Plano, Texas throughout all her High School years. She has completed two terms of study at Youth With A Mission, headquartered in Tyler, Texas and has been on mission trips to Honduras and Guatemala.
Kathleen was also one of the Praise and Worship Leaders in the Youth Music Group all through her High School years, alongside her older sister. She has graduated from Plano East HS with honors. She is attending a Community College while working a part-time job.
Jacob is now 18, and is active in JROTC. He has recently enlisted in the Marines and ships out in August 2008. Jacob plans to make the military his career. Jacob plays several instruments, drums, bass and electric and acoustic guitar proficiently, like his older brother Nehemiah. We have these instruments set up at home in the den and switch between them when we jam together.
My wife, Connie, is working as a Teachers Aide in the math department at a local High School in Plano.
