Duffy's Story
To make a long story short....
In my freshman year of college, I had this strange thing happen: I met the Lord (Jesus, not Darth Vader). If you're reading this, and this surprises you, trust me, nobody was more surprised than me! But, since then, it's been a great adventure - not always easy, of course. But, a great ride! I have a wife and two daughters, and now two grand-kids! Wow! Ever since that Thanksgiving weekend at Awanita in the Fall of 1969 (Young Life camp) when I had this encounter with the Lord (no trumpets or angels - but REAL) I've pretty much committed my life to sharing...Expand for more
that same stunning/outrageous/dangerous wonder with teenagers. That's what I'm still doing today. I love music, live music especially. I love travel. I do tons of it!! I love my girls (you know, the ones in my family!). And I treasure my amazing memories of awesome years at South Mecklenburg, and some friends who shaped me and taught me and made me laugh hard. I'm still laughing today. And, all these years later, I'm still really grateful for those friends. Wish we could see more of each other. I haven't actually made this story very short, have I? Well, let me put it in a word: GRACE.
