Dwight's Story

Hello Everyone, Retired in 2004 after flying as a flight purser/flight atendant for 38 years for Northwest Airlines. After graduating from HS, worked for a couple of years for Van Horn Brothers Concrete in Pontiac, while going to Oakland University part-time. Quit the job in 1964, and vagabonded around Europe for 4 months. When I returned home (broke), I moved to Detroit and worked as a teller for City National Bank, always keeping the travel industry as my work goal. Applied to everyone I could think of, and finnaly got a ticket agent job for Northwest Airlines in NYC. onal flying; I applied and was hired. Thrilled to death. I've been based in Seattle(20 years), NYC(3 years), Washington, D.C.(2 years), Honolulu(1 year), Boston(3 years), Detroit(5 years), and Memphis(5 years). Had a wonderful life and enjoyed every minute of it. Painted (art) seriously for a few years, (attended art school in Seattle while based there). Never had the luck to make it seriously as an artist though. Had a couple of shows, but hit the wall of no luck and not being in the right place at the right time. Maybe in my next life. Retired to Memphis in 2004, with my little shack on the wrong side of the tracks. Have traveled the world and still enjoying life.
