Dwight's Story
Just before graduation back in '70, my father gave me the choice of where I could go to college. The 1st option was hot, dry, dusty, boring UNM. The 2nd choice was San Francisco State in San Francisco.
Well, it didn't take much time to decide. I left 1 week after graduating for life in the Bay Area. I spent 3 years at San Francisco State before transferring to UC-Berkeley across the SF Bay. Graduated in December 1974 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I've been working as a engineer all this time.
Since 1970, married, divocred, remarried, 2 kids, life in suburbia. I've been back to Roswell only once since leaving 38 years ago. Haven't regretted leaving Roswell for a better life.

nd noticed that Mike Thompson had checked in to my profile. Yeah Mike, I remember you! '68 ('69?) Chevy Malibu 396 with 2-barrel carb was your wheels then.
Anyway, we're all approaching the 40th reunion and I'm probably wont' attend (as usual). Too much to do just trying to survive in this world. If I had anything to redo in the 40 years since graduating, I'd travel more, try more things, see more of the world. It's not that I've wasted all of that time, it's that I didn't do as much with all of the opportunities that I had.
The one thing I alway tell my kids is to try and take advantage of all of their opportunities. Get your education, it'll open doors to other opportunities, etc., etc. I hope they're listening (especially Cory, my son) .....
