Elaine's Story
Life
I was the fourteenth baby born in San Gabriel Valley Hospital in Southern California, only a few blocks from the San Gabriel Mission. I grew up in the tiny town of Wilmar about two miles from the hospital where I was born. There weren't many children in my neighborhood, so as a little child, I would walk out to the sidewalk and gaze longingly towards the playground of the John Marshall Elementary School, which was only a few houses up the street.
My sister was twelve and my brother was ten when I was born, so I had to amuse myself with imaginary friends. Both of my parents loved to draw and paint and I soon adopted the same habit. Almost as soon as I learned to write, I began making up stories. Despite my early longing, I learned to dislike school quickly and continually found reasons to be sick so I could stay home. I found classes to be boring and was constantly in trouble for passing notes, giggling or whispering.
I fell in love and married my high school sweetheart, John Scott, when I was only 19. We had two handsome boys that were the delight of my life. John became a Deputy Sheriff in Los Angeles County. arriage was successful, based on the many happy years that we did share. After the divorce, we went our separate ways. John remarried and raised a second famil and is now the Under Sheriff of Orange county. I remain single.
I live in Tustin, CA now, which is still in the same general area that I have lived since 1979. Both of my sons and lovely granddaughters live nearby. I have published my first book, "A Walk Away From Anger", and my second book, "These Dreams" and both are now in a CD verision. I am close to finishing my third book and hope to publish it soon. I hope to continue writing until I am old and gray.
I am very involved with Calvary Church of Santa Ana, and do charitable works to keep myself occupied. My crazy cat lets me live with her. My hobbies include writing, sketching, Bible studies and working in my garden. I am a member of the singles group at my church, along with Body & Soulî aerobic and strength training classes.
I am currently retired but still suffer from injuries I sustained when my car was hit by a bus in Los Angeles in September of 2006.
I have written 4 books and published two of them. The first one is "A Walk Away From Anger". I dabble in oil painting when I get inspired. I am addicted to my 5 grandkids.
