Earl's Story
I've lived in Mission Viejo, Kansas City, Garland and now Sachse. California was short-lived, and Missouri was home for seven years until I graduated from UMKC. In 1991 I married my best friend from Garland, nearly two years after moving to Kansas City. We stayed there until 1995 when we moved back home to Garland and began nesting.
We are developers, primarily commercial property in downtown Dallas. We live on the edge of Sachse on 10 acres which sits at the top of the hill at Pleasant Valley and Merrit. We have a 5th grade son and a 3rd grade daughter. We camp on rivers during the spring, summer and Fall, and we sit close to a constant fire in our living room during the winter.
After High School I worked and played and put-off family pressure to attend college. A short stint in CA landed me back at home, with mom. Reluctantly I enrolled at Richland in 1987. Shortly thereafter I was hired by an environmental consulting firm and my outlook on life and school evolved quickly into an aspiration for more. te line to Kansas City as soon as we were married in order to establish residency in Missouri for UMKC.
In 1995 our employers moved us both back to Dallas the week after I graduated. God handled a lot of incredible details in graduation, house sell/purchase and closings, and Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems and Trinity Consultants all coming together during the same week in May 1995. Nothing in my life has ever happened so smoothly as all of these life transitions.
As promised, Deb got pregnant as soon as we moved home. Alexander was born prematurely in January 1996 and Cassie came along three years later. We stopped at what we thought and continue to believe are the perfect pair.
Deb retired after Alex was born and I followed two years later. We began personally managing our property investments and today work closely together in what we affectionately refer to as "the family business."
For us, life after forty is FUN. We enjoy camping on rivers, teaching our kids, working with their teachers and coaches, and teaching the students in our ministry at Arapaho Rd. Baptist Church.
