Earl's Story

after graduation i went to work for the Washington State Dept of Transportation on a Road Construction and Surveying. Received my draft notice 1 week after my 20th Birthday and joined the Navy. After Boot Camp and schools, I was Stationed at Naval Support Activity, Danang Vietnam. In July 1969 on R&R from Vietnam went to Sydney Australia an was there when man landed on the moon. After Vietnam went to Pearl Harbor and served on Fleet Oilers, made deployment to the Western Pacific, met my wife in the Philippines and have been married since. 1970. f my Navy Career with the exception of 2.5 years here in the local area on Ships and Shore duty at Pearl Harbor. I retired in 1989 and returned to Seatle. Where I worked at Westin Hotels and Resort corporate office for about 8 years until they relocated. Went back to school at North Seattle Community College and received and AAS degree in Network Technology then work at Microsoft in computer labs first as a contractor then a Vender. I retired from working the first week of 2014. Currently, I volunteer my services at the American Legion in Shoreline as the Adjutant and Finance Officer. I have 2 sons and 1 granddaughter.
