Earlene's Story
OK - here is my story!
I retired from the Pentagon in June 1995; when my daughter told me that she was having triplets. I had worked at England Air Force Base for 16 years, they were talking about closing England. When I took the job at the Penragon I did not plan to homestead there, I just went to get my 20 for retirement. I had 21 1/2 years with Civil Service.
When I got to my daughter's house, they were 2 weeks old -- I stayed with them
for three years.
My husband, Bill Dixon, and I moved to Minden, which is about 30 miles from Shreveport. Bill died almost 2 yrs. ago (10/08} after being in a nursing home for
4 yrs.
NOW, I have the hardest, yet the most rewarding job of my life.
The triplets mother (my daughter) and father were killed instantly in a car wreck

9/28/09. I am raising the triplets - they are 15 yrs. old. They were completely devestated and I am trying very hard to give them courage to carry on. They are getting better. I just locked my house in Minden & moved to Hemphill, TX with them. They did not want to move to my house or anywhere else.
Hemphill, TX is on the TX side of Toledo Bend; cross the Pendleton Harbor Bridge & you are in TX, less than a block from the bridge is Pendleton Harbor Subd.
where we live. It is not like any subd you have ever seen -- there is more trees and woods than houses.
Now, I did not tell this story for any sympathy - I worship a GOD who said trust me & he said HE would never leave me -- I am hanging to those words and taking 1 day at a time.
Now, tell me your story.
