Ed's Story
Life
College was as much fun as high school and for several years after graduation we enjoyed life to the fullest (if you know what I mean). Upon settling down and having "My Three Sons" my wife Sue and I are enjoying the great American dream. I would love to hear from any classmates, alumni or acquaintances.
School
OK, so I was one of those losers that enjoyed High School so much that I could have stayed there for a few more years. I have come to realize that I enjoy most things I get involved with and have had similar experiences in education and carreer. Motivated by fear, I continue to do my very best while trying to smile the entire time!
College
After spending two years at the University of Kansas, in Lawrence Kansas (the Jayhawks) and one year at WaWa Tech, I landed at IC and graduated in 1978. I have since earned a masters degree in MIS (Mangement Information S...Expand for more
ystems) and a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in Organization Management where the title of my dissertation was "Newspaper Leadership Quandary: Choosing Between the Tortoise and the Hare." Although I will probably never hear, "Paging Dr. Baker," as much as I would like to--mostly because it has a very "Three Stooges" feel about it--I am still very proud of the accomplishment.
Workplace
I have been a breakman (railroad conductor), head hunter (employement counselor), shipped airfreight, was a self employed real estate appraiser, computer technician and manager. Of these I like managing best and hope to be in charge of a company as a senior manager some day. Most recently I am employed as a Wind Technician where I am essentially a wind turbine mechanic. My job is to trouble shoot highly elctro-mechanical, computer aided, electrical generators that are driven by a wind turbine.
