Ed's Story
My story began after graduation of 59. I left Walton and moved to Tucson, Az where I worked for a short time in a restaurant before deciding to join the Air Force, after basic training in San Antonio and more schooling in the Chicago area I was sent to Japan and Korea for the rest of my four year duty tour being discharged at Homestead, Fla and Clovis, NM.. I moved back to Miami, Fla for a time but got some calls from fellow servicemen to come and visit California to see if I would like living there or Florida better, which my choice was to Iived and work in Los Angeles for the next four years before reurning to New York to go to mortuary college under the GI bill in Syracuse, upon graduating and another year of apprenticship I received my Funeral director license from the state of NY.. I returned to Calif. to work for Forest Lawn in the LA area...after working for such a large company I left to pursue other interest....I was able to start a opera...Expand for more
tion called" Celebrity Bartending" meeting many stars over the years..during the time I also became interested in the travel agency business and worked for an agency for a yr when a rep of major airline asked me to enroll at LA Tech where he was setting up programs that would earn an degree in Travel which after four years of going to nite schooling. I was one of the first to get a AA degree...during the time I worked days for a Celebrity agency that booked many stars..On one occasion in 76 I was asked to road manage a musical group in Seattle , Wa which I accepted, after a yr I started a company MMI to book entertainment and go on the road to different cities and clubs changing every two to four weeks picking areas according to time of yr and weather condictions etc..I had a home in Seattle and one in Palm Springs. In 97 I bought a home on the Oregon coast sold the other properties and retired....sorta ! and I guess this is where It ends....???
