Ed's Story
50 years? Time sure flies when you're having fun.
After E. LEYDEN graduation in '67, I did the college trio, Western Illinois University one year, Triton for a year and graduated Illinois State University in June, 1971 with a BS in Business Administration/Marketing.
Thought I'd be drafted and on my way to Vietnam but that never happened and I got my career started with Chicago based Chemetron Corporation in industrial sales. I did pretty well, married my gorgeous bride of 40 years Pam Carlson from LaGrange, got promoted to Eastern Region Sales Manager and headed to south-east PA.

Thedy Ann and Valerie Lynne. Pam and I started a coffee, water and vending business that grew well enough to put the girls through college and allowed me to take an early retirement from corporate America at age 55.
Another 11 years forward to 2016 and I'm working 4 days a week transferring part ownership to my partner as part of the business succession plan. This year, 2017 it's 3 days a week, 2 days a week in 2018 and yes 1 day per week in 2019 and retired by the year end at 70. We enjoy life visiting family, Grand kids and friends and take a trip somewhere once a quarter. As Wayne Mc Cormick used to say "that's life in a putty knife factory".
