Independently consulting in those fields with Houston/Galveston based corporations. Previously worked 11+ years with NASA-Johnson Space Center as the Senior Construction/Facility Safety Engineer and Coordinator, with several of the CenterÃÂÃÂs Directorates, including both ground and flight safety for the Space Shuttle and International Space Station. Previously to NASA, I was stationed as a course manager, developer and instructor for the US Department of EnergyÃÂÃÂs Safety Training Institute and the International Environmental Safety Institute, in Washington State, at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. Worked as a USDOE trouble-shooter for Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental clean-up at Hanford. Spent 11+ years with Illinois DCCA as a Senior Safety Engineer and Industrial Hygienist, in Springfield, after leaving as Emergency Coordi...Expand for more
nator /Director of the Springfield & Sangamon County Emergency Services & Disaster Agency (formerly Civil Defense under Mayor Telford and a couple of former years teaching disaster management with Illinois State University and FEMA. Happily married for 15-years to my wife Georgia and we have four felines, but no children. Not in the cards, but it does allow us to stay behind and ride out our numerous hurricanes with our fire department. This allows the other fire families to seek refuge from the storms. Outside activities involve Senior Regional Staff Safety Director (Lt. Col.) USAFA-Civil Air Patrol Air Search & Recovery - 40-years at Carswell JRB, Volunteer Fire Department Officer - 16-years, church, woodworking and restoring antique fire apparatus - 15-years and running. Stanch University of Alabama supporter from having studied post-grad there during Paul "Bear" Bryant'ÃÂÃÂs Football coaching years, much to the dismay of my cousins who went to LSU and Penn State. Currently planning to finish postgraduate and PhD at Eastern Kentucky, in Occupational Safety, Fire & Disaster Management in the next few years. Would like to hear from anyone who remembers me.
