Ed's Story
Married to a wonderful and very successful wife. We have 3 children, 2 boys, 1 girl. 9 grandchildren ages 1 - 13. Lived in Delran, Browns Mills, Pennsauken and Williamstown.
Worked at Western Union right out of High School, they paid for my AAS degree from BCC. I can't wait to start collecting their pension. I took my AAS to RCA as a radar technician. Where between RCA, GE, Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin they all paid for my undergrad at Rutgers in Comp Sci and a Graduate degree from Stevens Institute. My resume looked like I couldn't hold a job, given all the companies I went through, but the address never changed. Interesting how those corporate take overs and mergers happened over those years.
I would have pursued a PHD there but I didn't want to go it alone, none of my associates wanted to jump in with me, besides I was getting sick of classrooms. I spent 27 years at the Moorestown plant as an aerospace engineer. Who would have guessed that Mrs. Simone's typing class would have paid off ...Expand for more
this well. Retired at 59 1/2 two years ago and have become a gentleman farmer. Dabbling in aquaponics, the chicken or the egg, and many little piggies, corn, grapes and blueberries, and of course the ever present "honey doo" lists.
I really want to plant wine grapes and start a winery. Just have to convince the wife that it "is the thing to do".
My next planned bit of dabbling will be in solar electricity. I will be installing it myself so I have to get it done soon while I can still climb around.
I still have a sister in Delanco so I am in the area often. I still visit Ott's (my favorite watering hole) Bridgeboro every other Friday like when I was on my work schedule.
From time to time I run into some RHS alum there. I used to run into a few teachers there too, Harry Johnstone, Rick Smith (not the tall version). I used to see Billy Fullerton once in a while and Rick Scaramazza there also.
Well, so far that's my story. Older, wiser, rounder and wishing that I knew way back then what I know now.
