Ed's Story

Since EJ, I've migrated to Washington, D.C., where I am a partner in a large law firm, Venable, LLP, after a number of different jobs in the U.S. Government. Among these was General Counsel of the U.S. Treasury, General Counsel of the Office of Administration, Executive Office of the President, and Associate Counsel to the President. I live in Arlington, VA, am married and have three grown children. I am active in a number of charitable activities, and run, row, swim and cycle to stay somewhat fit. More information about my professional career may be found on my linked in page, where I describe my practice as follows: "My practice focuses on solving Washington-related, ...Expand for more
international business and regulatory problems. I work on matters involving cross-border transactions, doing business abroad (or, if non-US, entering the US market), financial transactions, classified activities, government contracts, and companies interested in developing better internal controls and risk reduction programs relating to international business. As a former senior attorney at the White House and Treasury, I also counsel on nomination and confirmation matters, the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and other political law matters. I serve as Vice Chair of the firm's Public Policy and Government Relations Practice and on the firm's International Steering Committee."
