Ed's Story
Life
I married Beth in 1995 in Carmel, Indiana. We had Mark in 1997, Marie in 1999, and Matthew in 2001. All of our kids are great!
We lived in Carmel for seven years after we married. We moved to Batesville, Indiana in 2002.
School
I didn't like having to change schools senior year, but hey, it was within walking distance of my house!
College
Graduated from UC with BSEE in 1989. Always liked working in the computer lab. I recovered most of someone's *big* project one night, saving his team many days work. He brought me a six-pack the next time as a thank you! Ahh, college!
Later went to Southern Methodist University and got my Masters in Software Engineering. I must say, telecommuting to class while working full-time didn't have all the fringe ben...Expand for more
efits undergrad had. But at least I earned the respect and admiration of my coworkers. :)
Workplace
I worked as a product engineer at Delco Electronics (now Delphi Automotive) in Kokomo, IN after graduating. One of my coworkers invited me to a party, where I met my future wife. After seven years, I took a position as software engineer.
In 2002, I took a position at Hill-Rom in Batesville, IN. I am now software test engineer. (My full title is "Senior Software Verification and Validation Test Engineer", but that barely fits on a business card!)
In 2008, I changed jobs and became a Software Quality Engineer at Covidien in Reading, OH. So I get to experience the joys of commuting again. Now, instead of 5 minutes from door-to-desk, it's 50 minutes. (sigh)
