Eddie's Story
Life
Live in so. Cal since 87. with Peg, wife life is grand.We have 3 kids and 4 grand kids and now 2 great grand kids..We enjoy the outdoor life, we both ride motorcycles and go on many rides around the southwest. in June of' '07 it was Mount Rushmore; riding to Greenville S.Carolina in the summer of '08. I am retired from the the local city public works.I baby sit two of my grand kids 4-5 days. My friends are many and my problems few; since I gave up the brew in '82(AA 37yrs)
Our trip Greenville was wonderful. A whole bunch a heat ,a little rain and all kinds of people.We met a women from Mineola(class of '68),at a Cracker Barrel, in Tenn.. We get to see more of America than most folks just talk about.
Only have to ride through 20 more states to complete the lower 48 on a motorcycle!!!!Plan on summer ride 2011 through the upper mid-west and northeast to NewFoundland with my wife (Peg).. Any body live in Wis.,Migh.,Iowa toronto,canada montreal,canada maine, ???

I went to 40th class reunion and got to hang with some old friends . I
really enjoyed our time together. I wish it could have been longer.I probably won't see any of you again and I missed talking to some of you.I also missed some who where not in attendence. I'll miss you most if all !!!!!!
Well it's almost mothers day 2011, and I got a go,somewhere? I'm takin a bike ride(2100 mi) to visit my brother John and his family in Colorado.Bonnie, the 8 yr old is having her first communion on the 15th of May.Peg and I will go somewhere together during the summer months,but not to the east coast this year

The bulldog we had was killed by a car a few months ago.It was our fault we left the gate open .But,then again yesterday,a friends son gave us 3 parakettes, cage and all this great stuff inside. Boy, life is grand.
Peg and I took a little ride along the pacific coast this long weekend in July. We took San Luis Abispo as our home base. We arrived Sat. evening after a liesurly 5 hr ride along 101 hwy. We had to stop for some famous PEA SOUP. in Beulton, for our lunch. Next to our hotel(motel) was a Lousiana style resturant(first time for me),it has a sign outside that read OPEN SOMETIME. So, we waited and SOMETIME LATER we ate.
The next mornig we took off heading for the coast(13mi).We stopped at a coffee shop in Morro Bay and wouldn't ya know it , there was a woman we know from Palmdale having breakfast with her granma.We continued up the Pacific coast hwy, stopped in Cambria for gas and drinks(sovieners).Continued along the coast past Hearst Castle,a seal viewin location and more beatiful pacific coast curves and senery 'til we got to Big Sur. We enjoyed a fabulouse lunch,among the tall pines.We worked our way up to Monterey,where we decided to head east towards Salinas.
But, to our surprise there happen to be a rather large motorcycle rally that particuliar weekend. We were held up for a few minutes, and then we where on our way again. Being 200 mi from base we decided to head back. We ended back in Morro Bay for a sunset dinner along the ocean.
Next morn,we had some Jack-in-Box coffee and eggs and headed southwest back to Lancaster. We arrive back home needing some repair to the goldwing trunk and victory front fender.A pretty good wekend for a couple of motorcycle enthusiasts
That being said:I'm goin to a wedding for a cousin's daughter on the20th of August in Lyndenhurst.I'll be around from the 18-22nd.May se some of you,will be staying in Sag Harbour and Huntington.
We couldn't take summer ride to new foundland this year(2012) cost and time didn't allow it. Pegs retiring this spring so we'll have plenty of time to take on that adventure.
Peg and I are headin' out on the road again this summer(2013).We nephew Sean is marring a young lady Christina, where they live in Redstone Colorado. Should be anothe rfun filled ride through Arizona, New Mexico Utah and Colorado ,aand maybe a little stop in Las Vegas.It'll be good to see my family again. They don't come west of the mississippi to often...Expand for more

Going to Yankees opening day this year(2014), never been to one before .We're takin the 1600 mile ride to Houston.A little spring ride for Peg and I .Maybe see some aliens in Roswell along the way.
Sorry but here's some BAD news. Roswell is all that I can remember!!! I was T-boned by an SUV at an intersection in Carsbad New Mexico. Peggy Watched the whole thing as I was thrown 100'.Had to be air lifted 200 miles .to Lubbuck Texas for a 41 day stay.I received a broken nose, back,also a broken fema ,torn muscle and legiment along wit one smusched big toe and three broken toes on right foot.
Peg rode her bike, those 200 miles, a courageous thing to do by yourself.She stayed with day after day hopin and prayin that I,d come out ALIVE.And I am BLESSED to be that.Family members Daughter Tracey,son in law Sean and garand kids Apryl and Patrick drove from Cal.to be at my side for weeks on end.The word went out on several bike web sites.Members from all kinds of MC's appeared at my hospital room.Pattriot guard riders, christian bikers, goldwing gwrra,even some local guys Shaggers,rode all the way and took Peg's bike back to my house.
There was is couple from Lubbuck Goldwingers who came to visit every day.They came and comforted Peg and I at our time of need.I was astonished that I received 80 -100 cards for my recovery. I also received TWO PRAYER BLANKETS.One from local people who work with Tracey, the ,other, now get this from UPSTATE NEW YORK.,where some friends of mine live..
I'm back home now, been hear about a month. progressing well.Out of wheelchair two weeks now, using a walker. Getting around a little bit better each and every day.Both doctors say that I am improving beyond there expectations. Peg and my friends say so too.
Gotta go now been sittin too long.Write if you want,emails OK too. PEACE.
I'm into August now.my neuroligist says that I requier another operation on my C3 vertibrae.It should relieve some preasure in neck and aid in reducing pain in fingers and toes.Where hopin' for the best,talk to ya in Sept.
Going to be 62 tommorrow, what A Miracle.Man. Walking around on my own today'not too far but great improvment. My Family gave me a little suprise partyon friday along with granson Kenny in from the Texas oil fields
What a blessing.
Recovering well,walking a lot no threaphy yet. Going on 5k walk tomorrow with Peg, it will help vets coming home(all the way home).summer trip planed to Wisconsin,train ride then 's at rental,go to Harley,on way back along rt66.Stop and visit Doctors who saved my LIFE in Texas.
Eclipcs vacation.Started Portland,through Washington ,visit Pegs cousin 2 daze ride to Madras. boy what a GREAT view of eclipse,.next one 2023 in upstate NY. Went across Utah to old friend of Pegs. Good conversation.Stopped in West Yellowstone had dinner and a rough night sleep (futton bed) We got up went Yellowstone park and old faithful. We. Went north to Billings Montana for a few daze.drove out to the Battlefield at Little Big Horn and to North Dakota. Had some dinner and breakfast in Billings then onto home in Lancaster..Our next visit the Ocean.
3/31/18 will be 4yrs since my near death bike accident in Carlsbad NM.
Peg and I are headin' for Lake Havasu. on monday for a short holiday, 4-5 days..See some friends we know, relax and maybe do some boating.
Well back from AZ., had a relaxing time with Peg and friends.
Building deck around pool last few daze.,will be finished in a week or two.
Just finished 6 weeks later, right on time for our annual heat wav, .low 100*s for the last week and maybe this one too.. That's summer in the high desert.
"Fixing a hole where the rain gets in", the other day. Fell off patio cover ,cracked pelvis and remain on my butt ,back for a week and maybe for 4 more .
Since my last episode ,had some x-rays ,and guess what I had kidney and bladder Cancer .I had robotic surgery, and doctor took out right kidney; a football size tumor ..No more cancer but taking treatment for 6-8 weeks to prevent further cancer in surrounding areas..
