Eddie's Story

(Up Dated) 6/28/2013) My Kids Oldest one lives in Philly, Pa and works as a Veterinary Technician. Number Two is now out of the Air Force and lives in San Antonio, TX. He works as a Hospital Lab Technician. Number Three is still in the Air Force (13 years now) and is stationed in Mississippi.. Number Four is also in the Air Force (has been for 6 years) and is stationed in Louisiana. As for as me.. I retired from the US Army as a CW4 Master Aviator with 27 years of active service. So much for Mrs. Reed (English Teacher SDHS 1968) and her prediction of my failure in life. After I retired from the Army, I took 3 years off and did the yard thing..... the gym thing.... and the travel thing. Then I got bored so I went back to work. I started out working part time for Lowe's Home Improvement, then went full time and a manager. Then in March 2012 I decided to call it quits and retire.again. Don'™t worry, I have plenty to keep me busy. I have 5 acres and 5 horses. Believe me when I say I have plenty to do. A couple of years ago I purchased a V twin motorcycle and for the most part I now spend nice summer days cruising the countryside enjoying life. I do have most of my teeth and almost all of my hair. Of course most of my hair is below my ears, but I'm content with life's changes (actually not, I hate getting old). Now what I use to do all night takes me all night to do. I went and got a hair cut the other day and my barber spent more time cutting the hair out of my ears and nose than the hair on my ...Expand for more
head...... getting old sucks. So far I haven't shrunk. I'm still 5 ft 7 in tall. Actually much taller than I was in high school and I can still see my belt buckle (but only when I drape it over the door or chair). I do (every now and then) think of those I went to school with and I'm looking forward to the next High School Reunion. If nothing hinders me, I plan to attend. One of the things I enjoy about our reunions is I get to meet older women....... I love women over 50..... 55..... or even better yet..... over 60...... WOOF. (Update 3/8/2015) Number two kid is now out of the Air Force, but is still living in San Antonio, TX. He works as a Hospital Lab Technician. Number three kid is still in the Air Force and has five (5) years to retire. My how time flies. Number four (the youngest) is also still in the Air Force and has eight (8) years in. As for me... I'm getting bored so I'm going back to work. A little part time never hurt anyone. By the way...... if anyone reads this..... most of the class of 68 will turn 65 this year. Woohoo..... Medicare will never be the same. (Update 8/04/2016) Nothing to much has changed from last year, except I joined a Veterans group. The Veterans group is called "Liberty War Bird Association." It has a site on line, so if anyone would like to see what we're up to, look us up. It’s a good bunch of people of which most are Vietnam Vets. Right now we’re restoring an old helicopter and with a little luck it will be flying it this year. Wish us luck.
