Eden's Story
Okay, I realized I hadn't updated anything on here since 2008. Last August I transferred to a new teaching position in the Newton School District. I now teach high school interrelated special education classes in English, speech, economics, government, careers and study skills. I hadn't used my special ed degree for about 12 years so it was fun relearning how to write IEP's and such. I LOVE my new job! I thought I really loved teaching at the alternative school, but I love being back in special ed even more. I still teach 3 classes a semester for Butler Community College, a Fundamentals of English class on campus and 2 sections of Intro to the Exceptional Child online. I also still teach an aerobics class for the ElDorado YMCA once a week. In my spare time (lol!) over the past three years, I earned my second masters degree. This one is in teaching gifted education. ree I want in 10 years.
I am not married, but have a boyfriend at this point. Mark and I have been together almost two years. After being single for over 10 years, I am in no hurry to get married again, but am enjoying being in a relationship. My son Braden is now 17. He got his GED at 16 (obviously he does not share his mother's love of school!) and is still trying to figure out what to do next. He took a college class, but really wasn't ready for the level of committment that college takes. Hopefully he will figure out what he wants to do before next fall.
To the class of 1986, Bonnie Meanor and I have volunteered to organize and plan the next reunion, our 25th, for next summer. I have all of the addresses from the last reunion and some updates. If you have a new address or know someone else who does, please send it to me on here or find me on facebook (where I am most of the time). The plan is to keep is simple, but fun.
Well, that's all for now! Would love to hear from you all!
