Edith's Story
Life
Hi Everyone, I've had quite a life these past 50 plus years. Started school at Parkview School in the fall of 1959, then transfered to London Rd School in 1960 and went there til 1964 when we moved to Hanna Memorial School. I was there for 5 & 6 grade. I remember having Miss Wilson for my 6 grade teacher. Then in the summer of 1966 my parents decided to move to Port Huron, MI in the United States. Boy was that a trip. Didn't want to move, but when you are only 12 years old what can you do. So I went to Washington Junior High for 7th and 8th grades. Got teased by a lot of kids because I was from Canada. Oh well you learn to live with it. Went to Port Huron High School for 3 of the 4 years. Had lots of close friends. And then I went to Maine Township High School North in Des Plains, IL and finished high school there. Always remaining true to the Port Huron High School class of 1972. irl in 1971 and a boy in 1975. They are all grown up and have given me 4 beautiful grandchildren. Twin boys by my daughter and a girl & boy by my son. The best part of all this is that I can spoil them and love them and then give them back to their parents. I so enjoy being a grandmother & love spending time with my grandchildren.
I have since retired, in Oct of 2008, from the large telephone company. I worked there for over 21 1/2 years, I miss the people but not the work.
I am also divorced (2) & lost my boyfriend to stage 4 pancreatic cancer last yr, 2017. Now I am enjoying life again on my own & my constant companion is my little Yorkshire Terrier named 'Weezie', she keeps me company on when the nights feel long & lonely.
Have lived in IL, CA and MI since coming to the US in 1966. I love to travel and would love to visit all the states and Canada some day and maybe even get a chance to go to England and Ireland also.
